Default Do you think the Platinum Lexus Extra Care warranty is worth it

So I recently bought a 2011 Lexus gs 350, the car is in really great shape, its been serviced almost every 5,000 miles at the lexus dealership and has 73k miles on it.
When I bought it , the dealership offered me a Platinum Level Extra Care warranty that is good for 2 years or 100,000 miles. I am paying $2,2300 for the warranty,
do you guys think it is worth the peace of mind to pay for the warranty? Or should I just save that money and use it for any repairs that might come up? Its my first Lexus, so on one hand I think the peace of mind will be good since the electronics can be expensive to fix, but then again.. its Lexus.
What do you guys think?

those kinds of warranties are really only designed to make the dealer extra money.

That depends on you if you want peace of mind or not.

From my experience:

On my 2006 Lexus, got the warranty, nothing Happened, warranty expired and money wasted.

On my 2010 Lexus, got the warranty, nothing happened until the last month of the warranty expired date. A/C leaked and evaporator core needs replacing. Got everything taken care of through dealership. So it paid for itself in a way.

My 2006 Lexus A/C system is 4 years older and still no leaks and works fine/

So it's a hit and miss. Now, the thing is, if something major brakes down like the transmission or something, Your out of pocket expense will be a lot more than the warranty cost.

Then again, it's a hit and miss. So it goes back to your peace of mind.

I'm going to go with no. None of the 5 Lexus vehicles my family has owned over the years have ever required maintenance that would amount to that in just two years. I know, not the case with everybody, but I really can't say that I think it's worth it. Maybe if you can tell something big is about to happen at any moment, but if everything is looking good, then I'd pass. Porsche wanted almost $7,000 to cover my Wife's Cayenne S for the next 2 years, and as tempted as I was due to the fact that it had almost $10,000 worth of repairs covered in the last year and a half, I just couldn't justify it.

If you have the budget, go for it. If you're financing the vehicle, it'll probably be $25-50 additional.

I'm glad I did. It saved me $9k out of pocket. I was tempted not to get the extended service plan because it's a Lexus, but it doesn't mean anything. With no manufacture warranty left and after countless hours of research for any high dollar issues with early model GS, I'm glad I sided with caution. I just wish my brake booster and master cylinder failed within the extended service plan period. That was $5k from the dealer or $2k from an independent shop out of pocket. Also, most of my issues occurred after 100k. My extended service plan covered it up to 120,000 miles.

Noooooooooo please noooooooo
It's an upsale, plus you'll blow right by the warranty parameters and paid it for nothing.
Why would anything buy a car that needed a warranty. Don't buy the car then. Look for a jewel. I drove 3 hours one way for a beautiful mint 2010 with 28k miles on it.
No extended warranties added.
