Any way to stop the rear sunshade from retracting when my 2007 GS450h is in reverse? This actually irritates me all the time. No option in techstream unfortunately. Thanks in advance.

If im not mistaken isnt it in the drop down menu on the left side of the dash, I havent used my rear sunshade in years. They are known to damage there gears, so stoping it is a good thing.

I don't think there is a way to disable the retracting function when in reverse. You could always pull the power to stop it from retracting.

It is possible to program the back shade. Whether or not your year and model offers this is the question. There's several options to do this.1) Ask dealer if it's possible. If so they can do it for a fee or free if you're a valued customer. They use Techstream. 2) Carista App and OBD reader. 3) The screen in your center console has menus and sub menus, play around looking for these. Obviously a call to dealer service dept to confirm availability is your most logical first step. I have the shade on my 2016 es350 up all the time and like it that way.

Sorry but that is for GS -4rd GEN (2012+) My question is for GS -4rd GEN (2006-2011).
Dealer only adjustment it means that it is possible to do it with techstream and for GS -3rd there is not option for disable automatic rear Sunshade Retract, so the dealer cannot do it either.

You did fix the issue.Good job. I did get the year wrong but the bigger picture is that Lexus publishes all this info for us to find and use. That was what I meant by "viewing pleasure".

Do you know if there's a list like this anywhere for the earlier 450h, or did they not have any ability to personalize features until later? I'm looking to buy an '07 tomorrow, and would love to be able to tweak some stuff like this after I spend some time getting to know the car.

Could you please tell me where in the Techstream software i have to go to disable that rear shade from going down when in reverse? i cant find it?

It is such an annoying feature to have the rear shade go down on reverse, and then back up on drive.
I also can't get used to side mirrors pointing down on reverse as well, so I disabled this.
