Gs450H 2010 Traction Battery fan cleaning
Hi CL,
Greetings from sunny Singapore, hope everyone is doing ok during this covid period.
I've been trying to search for the traction battery fan cleaning thread but I couldn't find so, only for the IS and CT models, none for the GS.
So I decided to post some pictures for any members who might wish to DIY it themselves .
Apologies for the bad pictures and sloppy English. Unit is RHD with 208k.
There doesn't seem to be any rough mesh filter for the GS, unlike the IS. Maybe I missed it?
Hope this helps members here..
Tools needed.
1. Small flat screwdriver
2. Sharp nose plier.
3. 10mm spanner
Total time taken around 45mins
Impeller doesnt look too bad..
A close up of the ducts . white fcooling fan can be seen clamped on duct labelled \"4"
Duct removed after taking out plastic retainer , attached to traction battery casing
This is duct labelled \"4" removed , take note there is a attached filter element on the duct, in white .
Close up of filter element attached to duct
Pointed duct is cool cabin air extractor.. There is a attached but unremovable filter element at the end of it, where the grill of the subwoofer is , behind the seat headrest
This image is taken from the extractor duct with mentioned filter element , the end of this is attached to the cabin area where the seat head rest are.
This is after we peeled off all the trim , exposing the cooling ducting.
