Hi everyone, I seem to have run a little bit stuck on changing the cabin filter. All of the videos I can find in relation to this seem to be a little different and very easy to do.
The trouble I am having is extracting the actual filter, it is not seemingly easy to access and wonder if you guys have had any experience in this kind of system? The first photo below shows the access panel off and I expected the filter to be able to be pulled out from there but it appears to have some form of top housing that needs to be lifted to extract the filter from what I can see. The top housing kind of moves under a little bit of duress, but definitely not enough for me to figure out how to extract the filter.
This second photo shows me lifting up the top housing of this filter compartment where I think the filter is, the top that I am lifting has the rubber seal on the bottom of it.
Becareful in that you do not lift up forcing the flap open, many have destroyed their motor and ended up removing the dash to repair it.
1. With the car running put the ac into circulate mode, and not outside vent.
2. Turn off the car and that flap should open up, and you should be able to lift up the filter and slide it right out.

Frik'n excellent, that worked a treat man! Great advice... it was so easy in the end, just like the videos I had seen but no one tells you about shifting it in to the re-circulation mode to do it. Knowledge is everything init, so glad I didn't risk it and break something because the dash out concept on a car like this (and being my new baby) would have been soul destroying so I can't thank you enough! Had no idea that top housing would move completely out of the way hahaha
For those who find this post and haven't done one before like me, that top housing with the rubber strip in the above photo is seemingly gone when placed into re-circulation mode, a clip on the left and right is then exposed which you push towards the front of the car, lift it a little, and the whole thing just slides out. It's a cartridge type system so you are actually pulling out the cartridge housing, replacing the filter in that and putting it back in.
