GS 350 versus LS 460
Anyone have experience with both? About to pull the trigger on either a 2010 LS 460 or 2008ish GS 350. Looking to spend less than 20K and am searching for a nice example. From a driving or maintenence perspective, which would you choose and why? I currently own a GX 470, which I had to remove air suspension because ot sucks after 10 years and also own 94 Land Cruiser, which is just a reliable beast. Seems prime examples of the LS are more plentiful, but I might be very slightly leaning toward holding out for a nice GS because there are a couple known issues with the LS that are quite expensive to repair (brake actuator/control arms). Anyhow...what says the community?

Can't provide feedback on your original question but have you considered a GS460?
GS overall will be a bit smaller and handle a bit sportier than an LS
I've heard that GS can be a bit cheaper to maintain than an LS but someone with more experience should provide better feedback

How funny we own both of those exact same year cars. The 2010 LS has had bigger priced items such as abs module and pump replaced, mechanic advised its best to replace both, and aswell as front bushings in the suspension. The LS has 110k miles, The 2008 GS350 awd has nearly 200k miles. Other then the water pump, basic shocks, suspension arms, top radiator seal, battery terminals. The GS has been more reliable! From the IS-GS-LS every model you increase the width by an inch and comfort. The GS 350 is faster, the LS is more comfortable, kind of like sitting on a comfy couch. The LS is quieter, and for being a big boat it handles pretty decent.
But for $20 grand I would go for a 2013 and up GS350 maybe even an F-sport.

I would go LS all the way if it were me. Both cars are great but if your even the slightest worried about having to make a repair get the GS. The LS is just as nimble and quick as the GS but has more roll in the corners. It also has a more Luxurious feeling than the GS even though the GS has plenty of luxury packed into it. The LS will have you worrying about brake actuators, interior parts and control arms if you browse around the forum alot. All are legitimate issues but way overblown IMO. The GS will have you worrying about stuck/frozen rear calipers. The windows in the LS are much larger and enhances your visibility while I always feel a bit cramped whenever i get into the GS since the windows and roofline are shorter. I have 17s on the GS and 18s on the LS, both cars ride great!
