I just purchased 4 denso sensors to replace my old sensors, took it to a local lexus mechanic. I mounted the sensors and wrote down there codes. He didnt scan it, after seeing the 4 codes he asked for the 5th code. Then he tells me theres a 5th tpms sensor inside the spare. Is this true?

Maybe some of you guys with a running techstream can see how many codes register for the tpms

No, because I only had the 4 alloys' sensors replaced recently, and no more warnings.

Either he's not using the right scan tool or there is a button somewhere to skip the 5th sensor.

When they scanned for sensors did they scan the trunk spare? Its possible certain lexus's have tpms in there spares, maybe he confused ours for it

There's no tpms in the spare because it's not a full size tire just a doughnut spare for emergency situations.
