My tyre warning message came up, and I eventually replaced the rear tyres which were worn. Afterwards, the dash warning was still there, and so yesterday I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes. No difference to display, but now the mirrors don't dip in reverse gear, and the seat memory has gone, and the driver's door switches won't operate the other windows. HELP!

Wrong forum. This is GS - 2nd Gen (1998-2005). None were equipped with TPMS or auto mirror dip in reverse.

He means you're in the wrong forum, your car is either:

A) Not a 1998-2005 GS300/400
B) Not equipped with tire pressure monitoring or reverse-dip exterior mirrors.

What model year is your car?
Does it look like this or like this?
If it's the second one, that's a 3rd generation model.

The second generation of GS430 is the third generation of GS, as you can see by the range of model years.

This makes no sense. The 2nd gen did come in the GS430 flavor from 00-05.

Anyways, back to the OP. It may be that the sensor is dead. Since you did pull the battery, you will need to reinitialize everything. Open the drop down control panel and make sure the L or R button on the mirror is lit. This will enable the mirror autodip.

You will need to reprogram the memory seats.

You will need to reinitialize the windows from each door. Windows fully down, then fully up and hold for a second or 2. Same with the sunroof. I believe holding the sunroof open (not the tilt button) until it completes the full cycle (it will open, close, tilt open, tilt close.)

The FIRST generation of GS430 was during the second generation of the GS line, for the 01-05 model years.
The SECOND generation of GS430 was during the third generation of GS for the 06-07 model years, before being replaced by the GS460 for the 08 model year.

sure, but they are still lumped in with the second(01-05) and third(06-11) generations of GS. Just like the GS460 is still considered a third- get GS, even this it has a different engine than than the 430.

This is all normal after battery disconnect.

Here is how you reset the windows functions.

Also, all memory settings (mirror, seat, steering wheel) get lost on my 2006 GS300 whenever the battery is disconnected and I have to reset it.

I wonder how the 2nd gen GS group would classify the 4th gen GS300/GS200t???? 1st Gen GS200t, 1st 4th gen GS300???? lol

I know but the generation logic makes no sense in regards to the engine. No one in the 3rd/4th gen GS sides or the IS side ever talks about the models with new engines as a separate generation.

So what generation GS is the 3rd Gen GS300? 1st gen since it's a new 3.0L engine? So 1st Gen 3rd Gen GS?

My car (GS430) was first registered new in England in 2005, and so is a European model. Some years later it was shipped to New Zealand, and I purchased it. I have owned the car for three years, and can assure you that the rear view mirrors DO usually dip in reverse gear. Instead of debating which model it is, can anyone advise me how to reset the display and restore the mirrors, driver's door window switches, and the seat settings??

I apologize, because I did not realize that the MK3 GS was sold as a MY2005 in Europe, and the forum titles also don't account for that.

If we're actually mistaken and you have a MK2 GS with tire sensors and dipping mirrors, then I apologize for being ignorant of those options- they were not available on any North American or Japanese models.
