URGENT- Lost Car Key Not Able to Make New Key
Hello Guys. I am in a huge problem and any help will be highly appreciated. My cars key had randomly stopped working and the buttons were not working as well. The doors were not unlocking with my hands and to start the car I had to put the key right at the ignition button. The car would also constantly keep on giving the message key not detected even when I was driving the car and had the key inside the car. It was not a problem with the keys battery as I changed the battery many times and the red light would blink on the key.
After that I lost my only key that I had. I called a locksmith to make a key and he was not able to make the key and kept on trying and I guess the cars immobilizer got locked. The ignition button was not doing anything and the dash would not light up and the car would not give the message key not detected. I was able to jump the ignition and get the ignition on but not into accessory mode just into the first ignition mode. I tried to program the key the locksmith gave me with techstream and when I put the key on the ignition I got the beep but when I put the key on the passenger seat I would not get the second beep. I gave the car to a locksmith and he said he was able to start the ignition and the dash was giving the message key not deteced but he was still not able to program the key.
He is telling me that I need to change the ID registration box which is inside the dashboard by the windshield then it should work. I am not sure what the problem is. I am thinking it could be a problem with the cars antenna or oscillator or whatever it is called since my previous original key had stopped working and the new key that we were trying to program would beep once on the ignition when programming the key but would not beep when it prompted me to put the key on the passenger seat.
So could it just be a problem with the transponder, antenna, oscillator or something or the cars immobilizer is locked and I have to change the ID registration box.
Has anyone been through this or know any thing about this situation.
Thank you very much for your help.

Where did you purchase the new key from? Was it used or from the dealer? From what I understand theres only keys would work on certain lexus's. If you purchased the key new from the dealer and used the vin to verify the part, then my only guess is to take it to the dealer.

Did the locksmith give you the FOB with the correct FCC ID? Not all keys are the same, even though they look the same.

I lost a fob on my GS but I had a spare one from the last GS I owned(both 3rd gen) and the locksmith cleared the data on my old fob, plugged in some mini laptop and synced it to my current car. Cost me 100$ for the service. I just need to go get they key cut.
