New rear KYB shock that INCLUDES AVS for us GS460 owners.
I was browsing rockauto and noticed that on the suspension portion, that there was a new shock from KYB that includes AVS and found it pretty shocking.
At the moment, theyre only out for the rears, but hopefully they will come with FR and FL as well.
Part number was 7210006.

Im simply stating that there is now rear struts that will work for AVS. As for the longest time, the only way to replace rear struts and keep the vehicle's AVS was to go OEM which will cost around 250 each corner.

Thats awesome news! Ya oem stuff is 4 more times the cost of kyb, they also added a year or two ago front struts for awd which they didnt have before. So slowly they are releasing other options

But if your 460 has blown shocks all around, and are delaying because of the cost then I would go with the 350 as that will be a lot better then blown shocks.

Yes correct, only made for GS350, but they do fit the GS460. But the valving will be softer, because of the extra 200 pounds that the 460 has vs the 350. You can purchase rear (rears should be the same valving) and if you have the adaptive, they do sell those, and buy oem dealer front. If I remember correctly oem struts are 4 times the cost of kyb, so thats one way of keeping the cost down.

Great news! My 460 just turned 77k miles and I want to keep her stock so I was going to shell out the money for the OEM shock. It's the passenger side rear that is leaking! Would you just replace both rears so the ride is the same?? And do I have to worry about a ride difference since I would be replacing the rears?? I just don't want to lose the Lexus ride! Thanks!
When I replaced my rears, my shocks were actually in good shape, I was chasing tire wear issue that was chewing up the inside of my tire. I called the tech at kyb and asked him, what is the difference in these shocks and the oem. He said they are the same! When my struts arrive I compared the two, side by side, and compressed and rebounded each one. Both identical!

A little bit of leaking is ok by lexus standard, lexus states the struts seep fluid. A lot is not, ok!
But I would test the compression and rebound. If you push down on the trunk and it drops fast, and pops up quickly then the shocks are not doing there job.

I will check it out, I really appreciate your help!

So I finally got around to testing compression and I could barely push down on the trunk! The back end barely moved at all let alone drop fast!! Does that mean the shock is fine even though it is leaking?? Appreciate your help!
