Default Quality between GS and ES

I sat in and drove a 2012 ES 350 and it was very, very nice. I do wonder what a 2010 or 2011 GS 350/460 is like in comparison. Is the build quality and interior materials better or worse or the same? I like my Acura TL but I want something that's going to be more reliable for years going forward. Also don't want to mess with timing belts and something to where I don't feel every little jolt in the road.

I've not found Lexus to stray far with any model when it comes to quality of materials / workmanship. I'm on my 3rd and they all have had above average materials / build quality.

IS was had poor quality funky rubber on the dash, door panels that would melt in hot weather.

The GS is of course better quality, then the LS above it. The ES I believe is fwd vs the GS rwd or awd. As for the quality of the interior I have never owned one so I cant really comment. But I have owned the IS

The GS will be slightly better, than the ES. The ES does have the melting dash issue like IS. The ES will have hard plastic in certain areas. I was never a fan of the asymmetric dash in the ES. It's weird to see the wood trim gets skinnier towards the cup holder cover. It is quiet and cushy in the ES.

Didn't the fix the melting dash issue at some point in this generation? I do agree with the wood near the cup holders. Always thought that looked weird.

I think they did after a certain year. Maybe after the midcycle refresh. I need to go dig up the info.
