Hello everyone!

New member here as well as a new Lexus owner!
Let me just start off with saying my current daily is a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado (c1500) with 220k miles on it. I picked it up when I was 18 and has been with me throughout my other cars and relationships. However it was definitely time for an upgrade.

So I found a 2006 gs 300 awd with 125k miles for a pretty decent deal and drove it home the next day. I've had this car for about a week now and am making a shopping list of the things that needs some love. Thankfully I have a friend of mine (I don't know if he still wants to be after all the questions I've been asking him lately) who works at a Lexus dealership and was able to look through everything and point out some of the things it needs.

So let me just list those real quick. New front CV boots, right rear strut, drive line fluids, engine tune up (plugs, filters...) And finally a valve cover gasket.

So most of this stuff is pretty basic but I'm not a rich man so I'm going to be paying him in beer and pizza and try to knock some of this stuff out before winter comes. Thankfully this car has been serviced most of its life at this dealership so I know it's a pretty solid car.

So at long last here are my questions. What else should I look out for? I'm planning on installing a catch can whenever we do the valve cover gaskets due to the engine being direct injected along with a de carbon service at the dealership. I'm wanting this thing to be a reliable daily driver for years to come so I don't think I'm going to be doing anything crazy with it. I might get a set of wheels for it because the ones on it are crusty. But just a reliable cruiser is all I want.

At some point down the line I do wanna add some creature comforts to it. I've heard good things about the vline audio system but for now the cassette to aux cable works.

Anyway any tips or tricks with this car I should look out for? Sorry for the long windedness of this post but just trying to get the gears turning in my brain and appreciate all the help.
And again new to the forum so hello everyone!
