Time to change the tranny fluid on my 2007 200k mile gs350 awd. The car shifts just fine but at this mileage i'd like to do it preventatively.
Is a simple drain and fill a safe thing to do? I've heard of some people saying there's a risk of dislodging sludge that can screw up the tranny. I also heard of some doing partial drains and refills (like 1/3, 1/3,1/3 over the course of a couple of months). Anyone with experience doing a fluid change on a high mileage gs350?

Drain and fill 3 times, with 3-5k miles in between. 4th time drop the pan and replace the filter. On the first take a simple with your finger as it drains and or with a tissue. Smell the fluid make sure theres a hint of red to the fluid. If its super nasty I would just leave that first fill, if its not bad then proceed with the others.
