Default 2008 GS 460 High Pressure Fuel Pump Gaskets

Was advised my 2008 GS 460 with 82,000 needs the high pressure fuel pump gaskets replaced because there is some oil seeping?? I was told this is an issue with the 460 engine?? Anyone ever dealt with this issue??? Thanks for any input, dealer wants $800 to fix!

I'd try to get a second hand opinion at a good indy shop have the take a look at the severity of the leak. I wouldn't think it's an urgent problem, it's a lexus with 80k miles i would find it unlikely that even a small leak would cause any bigger issues down the road. Watch the oil level if it doesn't drop i wouldn't sweat it.

Thinking about it now the diagnosis sounds confusing. I don't think the fuel pressure pump is provided with any oil, just fuel

From a video I watched it is a gasket going thru the valve cover.. they made a point to say it isnt the valve cover gasket, its the high pressure fuel pump gasket.. it was just taking everything off to get to it.. miles are low but hard to believe its a 14 year old car! I just wondered if anyone else had this done.. I saw a little bit of oil on the garage floor..

im actually planning on replacing both high pressure fuel pump gaskets as well as the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals this winter. My 2008 gs460 has 162,000 miles. They are original and it’s nasty around the gaskets. Engine bay is tight I’ll admit as when I did spark plugs 3 years ago (though it went well) took some time. Did they reference you the part number for the gasket?
