Default 2GR - coolant bleeder location

Hello,

I've looked at some guides for changing coolant and purging air out of the cooling system on the 3.5L V6 and they all reference a bleeder at the top of the engine, sort of close to the radiator cap / oil cap area.
I can't find this on my GS450H, wondering if maybe the hybrid engines are different? If anyone has a picture that would be awesome!

Thanks.

Best to go on Ebay and look at a bare engine. If is a 2GR RWD setup, the drains are on the sides of block, but I can be wrong. They are a bit tricky to find.

There a pain in the butt to get to, but you have them on both sides. imo I would leave them alone, and burp the cooling with your hand. What you do is fill the coolant to the top, and with the radiator cap off cover the opening with your hand and another hand on a coolant hose. Squeeze the coolant hose while tightly blocking air, you will feel the coolant flow and the coolant level will drop, simply add more coolant. Do this 2-3 times and go for a drive and let the car cool and check the level again.

Your car has a coolant cap makes the job easy. Get one of these.

You're talking about the engine block? If so yea not worth trying to access them and they are for draining cooling not burping air.

Those work great, I used one that is a bit more money and heavy duty (OEM brand, green tool).

I did drain using the passenger side block, was not impossible to do. Got a bit over 2 gals (prob could get away with 2 gallons). Leaves 1.5 qts according to the spec. As time goes on I'll dump the remaining partial gallon I have from the radiator, so that will be a pretty complete flush. I doubt much comes out of the radiator. The hoses are pretty high up.
