Default Driver power seat noise

Hi,
I have a low mileage 2008 gs350 awd. The driver side power seat. Is making an awful noise
when I move the seat forward or back. Looking under the seat the screwing mechanism is making
the noise. Does it need to be lubricated? Any info would be appreciated.

I had a similiar noise it ended up being one of the seat bolts coming loose, so check all 4 seat bolts to make sure there tight.

The bolts were good and tight. I took all the bolts off and tilted the seat back and played with the control to see what was going on. The control works, it’s just loud and vibraty. I’m thinking it needs lube. It seems like its using vaseline. Does anyone know if that’s what’s used?

Axle grease or lithium grease is what I would use. Axle grease resembles vaseline.

Its also possible your seat metal track is worn in your usually position, or a bit of metal/hard plastic inside of the tracks. Which is giving you a bit of slop, therefore allowing noise. Maybe try changing your seat position just a tiny bit.

I used Super Lube which is a multi purpose synthetic grease. Lubed the left and right side threads. A little tricky getting the lube on the threads, but I used some takeout chopsticks.
😀 Put the seat through its range of motion. Worked for me.
