Misfire On number1 coil

Default Misfire On number1 coil

I was getting a code saying misfire, #1 so I go out and buy 6 plugs change them all, and I also change the coil for number 1. Still same code Need help ,, why is this code coming back on????Help

Try this, reinstall the old coil plug but before mounting, grab one of the old spark plugs and slip on the coil to the plug. Then with the coil plugged in, find a metal ground on the engine block and place the threaded part on the metal. If the coils and spark plug is working you should see that spark plug fire zaps. If you do not see anything then maybe its a wiring issue, and then I would suggest you grab a volt meter and measure the voltage.

If there is spark! then I would check #1 fuel injector. But the worst thing you can do is fire the parts canon in hopes of a fix. Take it to a good mechanic and in the end you will save money.

Move the “problem” coil to another cylinder and see if the code follows. If it does then it’s a bad coil. If it doesn’t follow then it’s a fuel injector or a break somewhere in the wiring.
