Default Please help!!

Hello I have a 2008 Lexus GS350 AWD. With 132,000 miles. I've had it for about 3 years. Recently I've been hearing a odd sound from the engine bay. It happens at idle or very low rpm. Overall car runs smooth but I'm concerned what the issue is. I recently figured out where the sound is coming from exactly. Seems to by driver side towards the back. Also noticed a pulley on the right side bearing is shot so I'll have to replace that as well. It sounds like a rock in a can , is the best way I can describe it. Also attached a video.
Any ideas on what this sound could be ? Bad camshaft lobe? Lifter slap?

That doesnt sound to good! I would take it to a shop and have them remove a valve cover and if the damage isnt visibly noticable then I would leave the valve cover off and install the coils packs on top and let it idle with no valve cover.

Could be a number of issues, loose timing chain from tensioner, timing chain guides. Could be a bad lifter, or bad vvti cam gear. How were you on oil changes?

I'll definitely take it to a shop and follow those instructions. The car sat for a while , started driving it again and noticed the sound. Shorty after the video I did an oil change and oil was really dark (no metal shaving) . Before that I've been religious on oil changes

Oh okay, It still has the original water pump. Would the sound echo to the back due to it being an aluminum block ?

not sure, what I would do is get a short piece of hose....can even be piece of a garden hose. Ideally a stethoscope would be best. Put one end of the hose close to the waterpump and the other end to your ear and see if it gets loud there. If not then move the hose to other areas you think its coming from.

Very possible! It is hard to tell from the video, a mechanic needs to see it.
