$4500 sounds like it includes laser jammers. Which can be illegal depending on where you live/travel. I run a Uniden R7 and will get another Uniden (formally an Escort fan) for our next vehicle, when that time comes. It does what I need it to and gives me advance enough warning in the PNW. No defense against Radar aka Lidar. K band is apparently increasing in some areas and Ka band is consistently used. I just try to pay attention to my surroundings and find "rabbits" to be the bait.

I have owned Escort RD detectors for years - various models - currently running Max 360c - with BlendMount - mounted directly under the mirror - great setup.
