Default How to troubleshoot key-fob not unlocking driver door?

My daughter's 2015 Lexus GS 350 key fob does not unlock nor lock the driver door. Is this an actuator issue on the driver door? How do I troubleshoot this issue?

Thank you.

Change the battery. Try to open the other doors.

We did change the battery on the key fob and only the driver door is having issue locking/unlocking.

Is the door lock/unlock and windows using the same actuator?

Are you able to lock/unlock with the button on the inside door handle?

Also check if they key will unlock the other doors. These cars will unlock from any door as you know.

Isolate the issue to either the actuator or the drivers door handle which unlocks the car.

Okay, so I just checked. The window works just not the lock/unlock.

I can manually lock/unlock from inside the vehicle. The remote and driver side lock/unlock buttons does work on all other three doors just not the driver door.

It may be the actuator in that case then. I’d love to hear if others have experienced the same.

Hope you are able to resolve this.

It sounds like the actuator then. If manual lock/unlock works. But pushing the lock/unlock electronic button doesn't work in locking/unlocking the driver door (but it doesn't lock/unlock the other doors)
And lock/unlock button on the fob doesn't lock/unlock the driver door.

One final thing you could check before buying a new one would be removing the driver door panel and making sure the actuator is getting power when activating it (via lock/unlock).

Check for sound . If it clicks, the actuator might be alive. Take off the panel and check the cables.

I bet the motor in the actuator is bad

this is the motor
Amazon Amazon

you can take the actuator apart and replace it

you can buy an OEM actuator
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...=GRL10L-BEZQHA)

or you can do what I did
they have a guy that replaces the motor in the actuators and comes with a lifetime warranty if it goes out again

There is no sound from the driver door at all.

Thank you for all the links, much appreciated! That's the answer to my next question. So, with the eBay solution, I assumed that means I send in my original (OEM) unit and they will replace it with a new motor and then send it back to me, correct?

This was a big problem back in my 2nd Gen days and didn’t think it carried over to the newer Gen’s but this might be helpful https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...s-working.html

for the ebay solution you order the actuator
he sends you a fixed actuator and a bag to send your broken unit
once you send it back the broken actuator you get the life time warranty
