Hi everyone,
I have a 2015 GS 350 F-SPORT. I was wondering if i could run 255/40/19 tires instead of the original 235/40/19. I understand there could be some rubbing and small issues like an incorrect reading on the speedometer (1-2mph off).
The reason I'm trying to run the 255's is essentially because a friend of mine gifted it to me and really don't want to spend money on another set of tires if I can just use these. I only do about 500km a month these days so lets say I'd drive on these for 3-4k kms max.
Thank you all for your help !

Sometimes it's easier to understand with a visual

Your diameter looks fine , but it's significantly wider .
Consider yourself lucky if they don't rub.
If they rub and you're fine with it then do it .
What sucks is paying labor twice to experiment .

I run 225/45R19 for winter tires(beefier side walls) and if you use a calculator, this happens to be exactly the same diameter as 255/40R19. I have 0 rub but when I turn the wheel at an angle, there is less than a finger worth of space to the front wheel well.
Since you are more than 10% wider, the diagonal is more than me and I'd bet you will rub the plastic lightly on turns.
