Default Lexus Noob here, suspension question

I am considering buying a 4th gen GS, do they all have the air suspension, AVS? From what I have researched I think the F sport and luxury packages have the AVS. I want to drive this next car until it gets to 200,000 miles so I would prefer not to have the complex suspension system. I appreciate the help.

It's not air, it's just a normal shock with a screw adjustment on top that the AVS control motor turns in Sport+ mode. Replacements are now readily available from KYB(same manufacturer as OEM shocks), set of 4 is about 300USD.

ahh ok thanks, so all 4th gen GS models do not have the air suspension like some of the LS models? The AVS is a coilover system, correct?

AVS stands for Adaptive Variable Suspension, which only means that the shocks constantly adjust in response to the road and stiffen when the car is in Sport+.

The front is a unequal length control arm coil spring strut assembly. This is a "coilover" in that the spring sits on a spring perch attached to the shock body, but is not height adjustable.

The rear is multilink assembly with a separated spring and shock.
