(2014 GS350 FSport) I recently got a check engine like with P0171 Bank 1 and P1170 Manufacturer Control error. My car accelerates very slow and then picks up and the engine shakes when idle. Very scary to drive. Anyone else experience this issue? My car just reached 100k miles. My mechanic says it might be my fuel injector failing. He wants to charge $7K to replace all 12 fuel injectors!! I don’t have the money for it… please help. Thank you.
First thing to do is clean the MAF carefully. Also run a few bottles of good intake cleaner in the tank like BK44. Check all your intake boots and vacuum line to see if anything is loose or there are any kind of leaks. About 99% sure it's not the injectors. The injectors only take about a hour to change out give or take anyway. Also change the PCV valve. Then disconnect the battery for about 10 mins and drive again.
You have to kind of chase these codes down. I have also seen on the older model 3.5 Lexus motors where those codes where the Valve on the upper Intake. I attached a pic of the connector and valve attached to the upper Intake manifold. Another place you want to check hoses and leaks connected.
Are you sure those are the only codes? Normally P0172, P0175, P0174 show up at some point with them. You may or may not be dealing with 2 separate problems that are coding. Likely if they coded at the same time its just one issue. The other thing to do is to call Lexus and see if you VIN# has a fuel pump recall on it.
Thanks for your response. My fuel pump was replaced via recall back in 2021 so only 2 years old. I did notice when I replaced my car battery, it ran fine without any issues for 1 hour drive. But the next morning, the problem came back. So odd : (

I had a couple of codes recently pop up when I changed my battery that went away. Also some trouble codes require 2 drives to trigger a code. The first drive they store it and if it reads the same thing next trip it will trigger the light

Yes in typing my prior post I meant to mention checking the battery condition also, but forgot to add. There are instances where a new battery installed are bad from the start. I would have a battery test done also with a load test check, not just voltage.
