Anyone with a newer Lexus GS with excessive wind noise on the driver side door? The wind noise sounds like a whispering sound coming from the upper section of the driver side door frame window area.
I went 2 times to the dealer and they were unable to fix it.
1st time: The tech replaced the big weather-stripping around the door but the door was still there.
2nd time: They claim they had the tech and supervisor drive the vehicle around and was unable to pinpoint it. They claim it could be PPF which I don't buy.
Thanks.

I doubt a 2020 model but could the car have had a locksmith company pry open the door open enough to insert a tool to open the door for access to get inside? That would have bent the door enough to cause a gap that could cause wind noise.

Lots of people have complained about noise from the mirror PPF so you may want to look at that. Has the noise always been present?

@websurfer How about the source potentially being the sunroof? If the noise is present only when the sunshade is open, it could be the infamous sunroof seal...

My 18 does this and it's more noticeable in cooler weather. Expansion and contraction has something to do with it on mine. Fold your mirrors in while driving and you'll notice the whistle goes away. I've had PPF on them since new so it might have something to do with it?! It's so minor that it doesn't really concern me.

Fold your mirrors and see if you still have the noise. If no noise you have two choices; put a few adhesive backed cabinet door silicone bumpers on the top of the mirror housing at the leading edge closest to the opening of the housing or on the bottom of the mirror housing - or remove the PPF. Noise-induced aerodynamics is altered when PPF is installed.

@websurfer - You don't buy it? It's almost certainly the PPF on the side mirror housing that is causing the noise.

Thanks All for the responses. Mystery solved.
So I rotated the driver mirror when I was driving when I was hearing the wind noise and confirmed it's the driver side mirror. No noise when I rotated the mirrors. Weird that the passenger side was fine with no wind noise. Go figure.
