When you remove the filter housing from the glove box , the housing has an arrow that points up. I am assuming air flowed from the bottom of the housing through the filter and out of the top of the housing. Therefore the arrow on filter should match the arrow of the holder, because the bottom of the holder is where the air enters, right? Update: actually, after watching two videos I think (not 100% so still looking for feedback) that this first paragraph I think I assumed incorrectly here, see below!
Watching a youtube video says the arrow on the filter should be pointing down and the video clearly shows the fan under the filter housing, so assuming it works like an air purifier, the fan would be sucking the air in, another video also at time index 4:24 says the horizontal filter housing air flows down, so you should have the filter with air flow arrow pointing down - so 2 videos agree with that logic and my oringal assumption was likely wrong
Thanks in advance for any feedback
Ths is the 2nd video with time index 4:24 talking about the direction of the cabin filter, if you watch a little earlier you see he kind of corrected himself too

The arrow on the housing is just a reminder of what direction to slide the housing in, it should be facing up (the arrow). HOWEVER, the filter's arrow should be facing DOWN.

The arrow on the CAF should be positioned pointing down ↓ ![](https://i.ibb.co/8MccsQ2/finger-point-down.gif)

For the OEM Lexus filters, the arrow printed on the filter is pointing UP with the word UP on the filter.
If you use an aftermarket filter, the arrow on filter indicates AIRFLOW direction so those would be installed arrow DOWN.
It definitely confuses alot of people no doubt.
