I just got a new to me GS450H and it was about to go for my first night drive when I noticed the headlights weren’t as bright as I thought they should be come to find out the H IDs are not staying on at all merely pulsing on for half a second, and then shutting off as is displayed in this video. it doesn’t seem like a common problem as I search through the first hundred pages of 4GS posts. Any help will be great. 🤞🏻 the dealer will make it right but 🤷🏻♂️

Did they work when you tested the car?
I guess you can start by putting new globes in, or at least inspect the ones that are there.
Standard advice is to swap globes and see if the problem follows but you don't have that luxury!

@Cvcjebus a few possibilities:
- I would start with a battery test to see if your 12V battery is in good shape. If the battery is weak, there is a possibility the headlights can be affected. When my battery was going bad, while in park moving the steering wheel would cause a significant dim/flicker to my headlights.
- If your battery is good: Since its a 2013, those may be the original bulbs. I'd switch out the bulbs to see if that helps.
- See if there is any water leaking into the headlight assembly. Look for any condensation in the light. Moisture can cause all sorts of electrical issues with the components of the headlamp.
- Your ballast may be going bad - have the dealer/shop check that for you

I was going to say blubs also.
Being it's a 13 both bulbs could just be bad. There is also a chance someone put some cheap amazon bulbs in there and they just are both failing to stay lit after ignition to burn. I would get some new bulbs and try that 1st. I will warn you have changing those bulbs in there the 1st time yourself is a big pita. Even the 2nd and 3rd time still can be. Putting in new bulbs is your 1st easy try.
