My 2016 GS F sport has had a very annoying on/off rattle from the cup holder/shifter area pretty much the whole time I’ve owned it. Had a 2014 that didn’t have this issue. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they figured out a fix for it. It’s hard to tell exactly which piece of trim is causing it but holding the lid to the cup holders seems to quiet it down.

Just to clarify, you mean holding the lid when it or closed or open?

I normally leave the lid of mine open. Granted, I also have one of those cup holder separator things from Amazon so maybe that is putting some pressure somewhere.

If needed, taking the center console apart isn't too hard.

I removed my cupholder, and the rattling stopped. I'd love to have the use of the cupholder, but the rattling drove me nuts.

Could remove and add felt tape in the contact spots and put back

This is the one I have (though they are all probably the same).

I *think* I did like fourgs said and added some felt tape in the slot just to minimize plastic in plastic contact.
