having a bit of a issue with my TPMS Sesnor on my 2017 GS350 Fsport.
currently my TPMS readings are not showing up on my display screen, it currently just shows three lines per tire and I have a the low tire pressure warning light on (yellow light).
this happened out of the blue with no prior symptoms just all sensors stopped reporting to the vehicle.
I have hooked up my ODBII reader to the car, and using carista I was able to detect all 4 sensors with the correct tire pressure readings.
When running a diagnostic on the TPMS I get this fault code: C2151: Front Initiator Circut (open)
not really sure where to go from this point in terms of diagnosing?
a couple of questions I'm trying to understand after reading several posts about TPMS is:
- if one sensor is bad does that mean all sensors stop reporting?
- if 1 or more sensor has a low battery then why are they still all reporting correctly?
- is there some sort of fuse or something that can reset the TPMS onboard reader manually?
- Currently when i go to reset the TPMS from the HUD, nothing happens, is there a specific mode the vehicle has to be in for this to work correctly?
The front initiator is behind the front driver side wheel fender liner for the pre-facelift. I would presume the same for facelift GSs. Remove the fender wheel, and the fender liner. It looks to be on the side closest to the driver door (as opposed to the front bumper).
Check the connection to make sure it is not corroded or chewed through.
Thank you!!
that was exactly it something got into the engine bay and chewed that one wire, just used some extra wire and connected it and good as new!
Now just need to see if any other damage was done
