2015 GS Fsport is my favorite
Yesterday, I drove my friend's 2018 GS F Sport. I own a 2015 F Sport. I must say, I was surprised. I actually prefer mine by quite a bit. The 2015 GS feels faster and more agile. The digital speedometer wasn't that impressive, and the maps in the stretched setting weren't that special.
However, I did appreciate the Mark Levinson which I do not have. I also much prefer the styling of the new GS, especially the front grille and tail lights.
Overall, I just expected more improvements and found myself appreciating mine more. I guess newer isn’t always better. I sure hope my car lasts forever because I have no idea what I want next.

Do you feel like it was throttle response or the suspension? Cause yeah I think the post-refresh GS are not sporty enough to be labeled a sports sedan. I have heard the post refresh did get some softer shocks, gonna be swapping my suspension soon

That's great! It's always good when you like the one you have!
I've owned (all F Sports) a 2015, a 2019, and a 2020 (current). My 2020 is my most favorite, the 2015 2nd, and the 2019 last, but all were awesome.

To be honest, it was a combination of factors. The 2015 model felt more cohesive and well-constructed. Its sense of solidity and tightness was more pronounced, even though the ride was a bit rougher. The Pirelli tires I have on my 2015 model almost managed to equalize the suspension feel. The throttle response on the 2015 version feels more vibrant and unfiltered. To me the 2018 throttle felt cleaner and less growly if that makes any sense.

The reality is that there are no bad 4th gen GS models. I love them all, but for different reasons. Any comments that a refreshed model shouldn't be considered a sports sedan throw me, but aside from that, I think we can agree they are all great cars.

I saw this thread last week but didn't get a chance to reply lol
But yes, that's always seemed to be the general consensus. While browsing the BMW forums surprisingly I came across a fella that had similar thoughts - https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1786553
@signdetres had a great writeup on 2013-2015 GS vs 2016-2020 GS
It's been about 3 years since I drove a 16+ , I need to again when I get a chance. Love how my 14 drives but wish it had a lot of the tech that 16+ came with standard.

I’m a big fan of technology, but I’m actually happy that the Lexus GS has fewer advanced features. Its simplicity helps it age gracefully, and I believe its quality will stand the test of time. While I’d love things like radar cruise control, self-driving capabilities, and ambient lighting, I recognize that technology can quickly become outdated, and the GS’s durability is probably my favorite feature.
