Does anyone know how you remove this panel. Outlined in Red? It goes under the instrument glass over the the other side that has a blank square in it. Unless you have Night Vision or Hold there.
I was able to pop off the right side, but cannot get the left side pic'd. I don't want to break it. Anyone know? Seems I might to remove something to get it to come out? The Right side just popped right out with a plastic pry tool. Thanks.
All credit for the images below are from the famous @eddie420 post on the interior disassembly...i think you have to remove the upper leather trim part with the stitching that sits above the steering column first to get access since its a separate piece entirely:
At very least, given that image that @AJLex19 , it would look like the trim piece you're trying to remove has a lip under the trim piece just to the left of it (with the BSM, Heater Steering, etc...) But there is that tiny lip that seems to go under that trim piece as well - but maybe as you pry it loose it'll come out just by pulling from the bottom.
@AJLex19 I should have remembered that you are the Platinum 4th Gen info search MASTER. lol!
This is like the 1st time ever I could Not figure out how to get a piece off. Must be time for me to retire after this. I'm working on 2 projects with this.
1. Adding a Radar Detector Mute Momentary button in the Blank Tab, so I don't have to reach up over the detector mirror mount to mute the detector.
2. I have a 16+ Digital Instrument Cluster on the way, to see if I can get it to completely work and upgraded in my 13 Lux.
In case anyone else ever needs and finds this thread, here is also a link that shows some of those dash disassembly parts also I had found prior.
Are you using custom buttons or are you going to use "Lexus"/OEM looking buttons for your two needs? As in, are you going to just drill the blanks and mount aftermarket buttons or are you going to repurpose some OEM buttons for your needs? If the latter, which buttons are you using?

So at 1st I was going to drill neatly and put in a momentary switch. Then I realized that the 13 optioned with Night vision and 450 both had buttons there. One is for Night Vision activation, the other is the 450h was brake hold, I think?. Went to Lexus dealer parts yesterday and ordered the Brake hold button, to use.
Hope I can figure out the Pin's to just use as a momentary switch as it's likely used for with the Brake hold. It will look more Factory reposing than adding a aftermarket button drilled in.
Here is a thread relevant to info on the Brake hold feature and that button switch also.
How about the panel with the trip meter button? Since there is nothing called a speed housing.
How is this helpful?
Were you confused about the pic in the 1st post with Red outlined? Do you know what now and clear and see it? Do you need anymore help understanding which part? After all that is the main point to understand what to be of help about, correct? My apologies for confusing one member.
Seems you have a real problem with this. Why..... idk????
