Usually I like to research things before I buy however, this morning (Sunday) I went out and I did notice a few clicks before my car started, drove about 40 minutes highway driving to a restaurant . Parked my car for two hours and came out and the car would not start. Warning lights came on and said my brakes had issues but I did not think that was correct, I did think it was the battery. Roadside assistance came, gave me a jump, car started right away. But service man could not tell me if I needed a battery though I figured I did and I was worried once the car turned off it would not start again.
Now its Sunday late afternoon and I believe battery places are going to close soon and I am in a bit of an unfamiliar area. Ironically the roadside assistance service must have a deal with Pep Boys because the request triggered a 30% battery coupon for Pep Boys. So I stopped at Pep Boys and they tested battery (attached) and said the only battery they have that is a match for my vehicle at this hour is a Pep Boys brand premium battery with 36 mo warranty for $199. Plus tax and install. Had them do it. They took off $60 with the coupon , So $140 plus taxes, fees and install , about $167 - I realized upon leaving there was a Walmart across the street, not sure if they would have done the install for me on a Sunday afternoon but oh well, too late.
Is it the best and most perfectly fitted battery that was installed with the proper TIS procedure, probably not. I mean, you're asking this on a forum that has people that actually go to the dealer to replace a battery on their Lexus. But, I wouldn't worry about it, it's a fair price for what you got, IMHO. Hopefully you get 4-5 years out of it.
Great to have roadside assistance, but I highly recommend having a battery jumper like the JNC660 in case you need to jump a dying battery a few times before you're able to do your research/get the battery you want.
You got a decent amount of years out of your OEM battery. The battery you bought should be perfectly fine (many threads on batteries - really only a few battery makers that have tons of sub-brands anyway).
I've never replaced my battery at the dealer but lately Lexus dealer pricing on the part/battery itself w/installation and warranty is competitive.
Your battery test results are dated January 1, 2000.
I like Interstate batteries (Costco) or Lexus from the dealer. You are probably good with the Pep Boys battery, but I don't believe it will last as long as your original Lexus OEM battery. What's done is done, so drive your car with a smile on your face, knowing she'll start when you want it to.
$167 is roughly the same as the dealer's price for a 84 month Lexus(Interstate) battery. There have been some infotainment issues reported here when batteries are replaced. That plus the dealer price being within $40 bucks of everywhere else is why a lot of GS owners go to the dealer.

Like AJLex19 said, there are only like 3 manufactures that produce batteries so alot of sub brands are actually made by the same company but with different labels slapped on them. And the difference between a 1yr and a 5yr battery is...... Nothing but the warranty. Every lead acid battery is the same chemistry wise unless you go with a lithium ion lightweight battery that costs 2X the price. The battery I have now is one I got from Walmart about 2yr ago, it was a 1yr battery and $79 out the door since I gave them my old battery to negate the core charge.
As a general rule of thumb I change the 12V battery every 4-5 years as part of a maintenance schedule. I don't want my wife to be stranded because I cheap out on a couple of hundred bucks.
