OEM non-ML amplifier issue
Just sharing my experience with the Lexus OEM amplifier (non-ML) - there are quite a few threads on this already, the usual symptoms were happening:
Audio freezes for a few seconds regardless whether it's on Bluetooth source, radio source, etc.
The volume **** or volume buttons on the steering wheel doesnt respond for a few seconds.
Eventually, the radio went completely silent.
There was no sign of water intrusion in the trunk where the amplifier sits, no rust on the amplifier unit (unlike some I've seen online).
I opened up the amplifier to find one of the resistors "burnt/exploded".
May have attempted a repair, but the local junkyard had one and I decided to just swap it out. If it goes again, I'll probably try to solder repair this one.
Here is the "good" amp. 470ohm resistor
