Unhappy Wife Disapproves GS F, Going to Stick with 350

"It's too loud inside, the ride is too harsh" said the wife. "EVs are quiet"
"But EVs have no soul" I said.

And anti-enthusiast parent said "you can't even afford a home". -- Even though I have 2 homes in Texas, I just can't afford a 1.5M home in SF Bay. "You are in poverty" she said. You need to save up to buy a home.
"but mortgage for the home I'm renting is 2.5x", I said

That aside, I did drive the 16, the ride is quite a lot stiffer than Sport+ mode in GS350 F-Sport.
No rear sunshade, power trunk, AVS (adaptive variable suspension) or rear steering, and roof liner is not Alcantara (same felt material as my 350) for like a $40k trade-up.
Really like the carbon fiber trim though, and GS F is Much Much louder even with ASC (fake engine noise) off. The transmission is of the same jerky quality if manually shifted down at low speeds.
I guess I'm going to stick with MY 15 GS350 till my toddler can drive or when the car is totaled.

Who would the car be for to drive?

Who would be paying for it?

On 2nd thought..... I think they are right.

@gordonyz - Since your wife is controlling your choice - maybe you should be in control of her choice.

You should tell her NO when she chooses a car for herself.

My wife doesn't have a choice when it comes to cars, I do.

40k trade difference is a hard sale! I’ve had the same thoughts about trading my 13 F Sport but can’t reconcile that for a V8 and a few other performance differences. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure the V8 is awesome but 40k awesome? I don’t think so.

I remember reading a review of the BMW M5 and MB E63 comparing them to the GS F and the reviewer mentioned the GS F was the best daily driver as its ride is "easier" to tolerate when you're just headed to a local spot and not tearing up backroads. The other advantage of the GS F was the lesser expected mechanical headaches over the long-haul per that review.

Even still, if the GS F would be the only vehicle and you have a toddler, I can understand any concerns about overall quietness, ride quality, etc. compared to your current GS350 as well the expensive trade up as GS F prices have held strong over the last few years with low inventory.

I'd be paying and they only ride along, maybe they just want a comfort ride.

You should recommend a car like this one for her. Touché!
She's into ride tall SUVs or things like Rangler, X3 M40i was the result of negotiating. Shes got what she wanted already. It rides good for an SUV but handling? Not that good VS to GS sedan..

Yeah, for a 8 years old car really hold good value.
when I looked at them in 2019, they were around $45-55k, now they are at same price with more miles/years and no warranty.

Never driven one, but from what I understand they are very good cars. However, they seem to be extraordinarily overpriced.
You can buy an Audi S6, and save the difference for repairs. At that price point, your choices are numerous.

Not a lot of NA choice in current market. If limited to mid/full size sedan, basically 2016 Panamera, charger, 300C/S were made after 2015.
