Rain sensing wipers not working after windshield replacement
My windshield had a crack in it so I had it replaced at Safelite. Now the rain sensing wipers don't work. Anyone else had this issue? If so was it an easy or hard fix?
I think I've read of the issue before. Normally it's the tape that sticks the sensor onto the windshield that has to be replaced. By chance, do the sensors work if you press on the sensor up against the windshield while water drips on the outside glass?
@jeverett72 - Safelite has been known to cut corners (a.k.a. scrimp) on numerous things when replacing a windshield. Besides mostly installing inferior glass windshields compared to original equipment glass, they have been known to do a poor job of applying adhesive that oftentimes leaks or causes wind noise at a latter time. But, Safelite has also been known to use generic tape they cut/modify on-site for the rain-sensing sensor to detect rain. If the tape is inferior and does not adhere properly or it is not cut/modified correctly the rain-sensing feature will likely not work well.
I believe the image below of tape is the tape needed for the rain-sensing windshield sensor for a 4th Gen Lexus GS 350.
