Default 18 LexGS350F OEM Immobilizer effectiveness

Relay attack happened last night. By chance I looked at the driveway cam and their was a car next to mine. That's unusual but not really for this neighborhood. Reviewed footage back 15-20 mins and saw him smash the moonroof.
Fast forward. I hit the panic button and they drove off. After reviewing the entire recorded footage. it went down like this. Moonroof broken. Possibly testing the alarm. Drove around the block and they double
parked next to my vehicle. They sat inside their vehicle for aprox. 10 mins and were able to gain access as I saw the lights blink a few times and they were in.
They must have spent another 5 mins trying to start the engine. This when I happened to look at live stream and hit the panic button. Pulled the starter relay out in case they came back.

Does anyone know how effective the OEM immobilizers are? If they do a relay attack with their fake key FOB will the immobilizer lock them out because their FOB is not coded into the ECU or can this be bypassed?

Techstream needs to be used to code the ECU correct? And unfortunately I didn't have my FOB in its RFID pocket.

Anyone have experience with our immobilizers?

A relay attack, if it was that, is just boosting the signal from your own key and repeating it. So if they are successful in getting in and they continue to have good signal, they could just start the car because the car thinks it's your key present.

You could keep your keys in an RFID bag/box so they aren't able to relay your key signal.

I would assume they broke moon roof because it isn't as obvious as a busted out side window? Or maybe easier to replace.

Sorry to hear about the break in. Park inside from now on.

Disabling "Access System with Elec Key" ( in door lock settings ) is said to prevent relay hacks.

I would think that would only work against the door being unlocked. If they busted the moon roof and enter in through there then I think the car can still be started.

I wish I had that option to park inside. Thanks for the video, going to give this a try as soon as its back from the shop and possible installing a kill switch and shock sensor.
I wasn't using my RFID bag but will from now on. Just ordered 2 large laptop RFID sleeves. One for spares and the other for daily usage.

This is happening much to frequently here. Just want to prevent theft of the vehicle. I can deal with broken glass..
