Any insight is greatly appreciated/ welcomed basically at night time the head unit, clock and mouse buttons and completely dark no light at all when the headlights switch on if the headlight switch is off th clock comes on again and the radio will at least show the numbers for the temp then, it seems as if it's an issue with the headlight switch ? If that's possible
Car has a new oem clock spring replaced mpx body, checked dome fuses, not sure if any other fuses go through there. Thanks guys.

Is the car parked outside or some place where rodents have access to the car?

yea It is parked outside so that's definitely possible, if you look towards the top of the thread when the issue first started, it would only flicker when I turned the steering wheel making me think something was shorting to ground, car is parked outside tho so yea it is a possibility.
What comes to mind now that you've replace the steering clock spring is that you may have damaged wiring caused by a rodent chewing on a harness or insulation of exposed wiring. I can foresee two or more bare wires with its insulation chewed off touching one another which could cause the flickering - or a single wire chewed in-two re-connecting briefly on occasion. Rats love to chew on wire insulation, and through copper wires...

How is your Grom VLine VL2 powered from the car's 12 volt power system?
I'd look into the problem being with the Grom VL2 itself or with a fuse block connection from which the Grom VL2 is powered...

the grom has its own jumper harness, however I did try unplugging the grom at one point no real difference that I was able to note, I do have a 16+ mouse controller the grom as stated. It's a very peculiar issue.
I can def try unplugging all the grom harnesses once more and note if anything changes, I'm not sure if theyres a relay that could've gone bad or something?

Okay I'll get back to you than, the wiring is just at the back of the radio and the display basically it just piggy backs, basically just a 30 pin that connects to the 30 pin so I'll just have to rip the console apart this weekend.

no so the grom uses the radios power you don't have to run your own wiring it just comes with a harness.
If you used an empty fuse slot in a fuse block or wherever the Grom is connected to obtain 12 volt power - take a very hard look to assess the integrity of that connection as well as any subsequent section to look for possible abnormalities (e.g. fuse block section looseness, loose terminals/terminations, frayed stranded wiring, etc.).

Okay, that's good as long as the harness is sound. I've heard that some people needed a replacement harness to replace a defective harness or a defective 16 pin (I think) connector, and updates have been needed for the firmware for some reason, but...

Update..
New head unit, no difference, to me it almost seems like it could be a ground issue but not 100% sure. Going to test the clock / head unit for ground and power
