Default B1479 - how hard to access sensor?

I’ve got the dreaded code for the flow sensor. I couldn’t find a single video on YouTube of someone swapping it in a GS. I have it coming tomorrow and wondering if anyone has done this. Seems like I’ll have to get to it from the underside but before I get into pulling stuff off, hoping someone has done it already…

saw a video of some 3rd world country guy cutting into the signal wire on an ES and putting in a resistor to fool the a/c circuit board… I’d rather replace it.

That sensor is on the a/c compressor so you have to unbolt the compressor to change it. I helped a friend change it on their 14 ES350.

You can also try pulling the fuse to the a/c compressor, and it may start working again. But may stop again if the sensor is bad still. I actually sent a letter to Lexus Corp about this some years ago, that it was a shame that ppl had to do $1k - $2k in cost to fix a $20 sensor when the compressor was still good. I got a thank you we will look into it, is all.

Thanks. I’ve done a bit of looking around and I think that if I pull the alternator, I can get to the sensor without also pulling the compressor. Temps just jumped to the 80’s so I need to get working on it. Prob do the spark plugs while I’m in there, been putting that off as well
