@praetor - Funny you mentioned your sister-in-law's 2016 Audi Q5 which was problematic for her.
When I was at the Audi dealership there was a husband and wife with an almost new SQ5 talking with a service advisor where he reminded the guy his wife's SQ5 had been in the Audi dealer's shop multiple times but they never could solve the problem, and it was back once again. I have no clue what the problem was about, but the husband was clearly frustrated. You could almost read on the husband's face that he didn't want to own that car any longer. I felt sorry for them. I guess it can happen with any car brand. The closest experience like that I've had was with BMW.

I'm sure things have gotten better but people don't buy German cars for their reliability or longevity.
