When I was at the Audi dealership there was a husband and wife with an almost new SQ5 talking with a service advisor where he reminded the guy his wife's SQ5 had been in the Audi dealer's shop multiple times but they never could solve the problem, and it was back once again. I have no clue what the problem was about, but the husband was clearly frustrated. You could almost read on the husband's face that he didn't want to own that car any longer. I felt sorry for them. I guess it can happen with any car brand. The closest experience like that I've had was with BMW.
Yeah can happen to any car but certain cars seem to have more higher probability of problems. My friend's wife had an X5 which too always had issues until they got fed up with it and went with an Acura MDX. Fans would go out causing no heat/AC. Brakes would seize as apparently BMW engineers felt a need to have brake dryers if it sensed the rotors got wet. The calipers would hold to build up heat so it would dry faster. The problem was when the calipers didn't release it's grip so it wore out the pads quickly LOL

I'm sure things have gotten better but people don't buy German cars for their reliability or longevity.

Too many rude personal comments in this thread by the OP and by others.
