Default 18 GS a/c evaporator not draining?

Wondering if anyone has experienced no condensation on the ground after running a/c? The floor in my garage was dry after a drive on a hot humid day. I've heard that it's possible it may leak on the passenger side front carpet in which I notice a water stain on my front floor mat.

Hi Charley95,

My 2018 GS 450h rarely shows any condensation discharge on the ground even after driving in days of 100° temperature and/or very high humidity of 80% to near 100%.

Occasionally I'll see only a drop or two (literally) of condensation on the garage floor, actually behind the car a few feet, but never truly underneath the car where I'd think the condensation discharge tube is likely located.

I hope this helps!

Thanks BC! I guess I'll jack it up later and take a look underneath and see if I can find anything.

Keeping in mind A/C drain tube is up really high and drains onto housing (Can't remember which housing) in the GS350 so it might not puddle very much.
Most other cars a/c tube is lower draining right above the ground.

That's correct, the condensation drain tube is up much higher than many other cars - and I think it may actually drop onto the transmission case/housing which is going to be warm, which in-turn is going to help it to evaporate rather quickly.

I looked for it a few years ago because if you can use the little cleaning brush and solution it helps to keep the a/c cooler also. Found it buried and near impossible to get to at home away ,up above the trans.

I looked at a few Tube vids. and it appears it's above the bell housing which some have been able to access but it's a tight squeeze to get at. It doesn't look like a hose but more of a rubber plug with a slit in it to drain and they just remove the plug. My RX drains quite well.

@charley95 - I just returned from driving about 4-5 miles in 101° temperature with about 48% humidity and pulled into the garage. I looked down and immediately thought about you!

This is what I typically see of condensation - just a drop or two of water, and totally evaporated in less than a minute...

This image is not of a 4GS 350 but this is what you're looking feeling for above the transmission case and a little toward the passenger side. It'll be a grommet that has a slit in it for the drain hose to protrude from it.

Here is what the drain hose grommet with a split for the drain hose to protrude looks like..

Thanks for posting that BC! It just seems strange to me that my RX leaves a trail of water across the garage floor and the GS does not?! When I'm not so busy, I'm going to lift the car and investigate.

@charley95 - Good luck feeling your way to find it! I hope you have long, skinny arms and enjoy hugging a transmission!

I have been doing some research on this to make a vid for my YouTube channel. "Easiest way to clean the AC in the GS/IS" So far it ain't looking good

Want to find a way to make easy for ppl to do it w/o even getting the car in the air. Will prob post a vid on it soon cause my AC is getting a moldy smell again lol.
