Hi, first post here and first Lexus-
I picked up a nice '14 GS350 RWD, but the previous owner removed the mufflers and I'd like to replace them, as the car sounds like a million really pissed off hornets whenever I step on the gas.
I'm also looking at replacing the sound generator with the RX350 resonator too-
my question- I want a close to stock sound, anybody have recommendations ? I keep seeing Walker Quiet Flow and some universal 2.25" Borla mufflers...
Would just killing off the Sound generator make much difference ?

Chances are almost 100% sure the previous owner did a whole lot more to your car than just remove the mufflers!

Welcome. The stock exhaust mufflers are 60mm = 2.35 inches mufflers. Using 2.25 would stop it down.

Why do you want to use the RX350 sound gen? Also where are you located? There are many owners who have the removed stock mufflers and have them laying around still.

 

I have a stock axle back still hanging around if you are in Michigan!

as to the RX 350 resonator, there’s a thread on here where a few people who didn’t like the noise from the intake sound generator, either removing it and plugging the hole, or replacing it with the quieter resonator from the RX.

if anyone in Portland does have the stock axle back systems, I’d be interested
