Well the production car will probably look totally different..... Still, I'll go to the show to see it in person

interesting.

if they introduce the GS concept as a hybrid, that would be smart..... especially if they can show one with adequate trunk space.

that would trump the infiniti M hybrid, and steal whatever little thunder the Mh had.

Something is telling me 4GS will be a huge disappointment. With Lexus spitting out these mediocre hybrids one after another, they wont give enough attention to the GS.

^^ the last two vehicles were built on a budget, being low priced entry level vehicle hybrids. The GS and GSh has a much higher price premium. Im sure it will be fine

It says Gh so i am sure it is hybrid... hopefully they have GS300h or GS350h hybrid with 30mpg, based on either 2.5l or 3.0l V6! And normal trunk space... that would be my dream next car.

i am sure they will show higher powered version for the show though.

battery technology, that's all they need to make the packaging smaller. Hopefully it has some 20 inch wheels and a lower profile roofline, intelligent spacing should help for that. Come on Lexus, show us what you got.

I really hope that you are wrong. Lexus absolutely CAN NOT afford to pump out a mediocre next generation GS. Too many good products in this segment and with all these crazy stuff going on at Toyota, they absolutely have to blow away everything in its segment.

The LS is not a sporty car, so it make sense that they don't make a LS-F, just like there is no M7, the GS is sporty though, so I am betting they will release a GS-F.
Technically, there is an M7, but it's called the Alpina B7.

Mercedes even has an S63 and S65 AMG.

But all this is a different story, found here:

Now is March 2011, I can't believe the 360 hp M Hybrid is making fun of the 340 hp GSh that came out in 2007

Is like hello, it came out 4 years ago and is only 20 hp less. And I don't even have to drive it to know it won't have the refinement of the GSh.

hmm ... we have two huge threads on the GS ... The "4gs mega thread" and this one...

Possible to merge them? ... or close one? Seems like the similar info is being posted in both and there isn't really a point in having to post duplicate things...

same here. i don't think lexus can afford to lose on the 4gs, at least not by the kind of margin 3gs saw/sees

It has 20hp more but also 5mpg more in city and 7mpg on highway. Impressive can't deny that. I am expecting Lexus to equal it at least.

What I am trully hoping for is Li-ion batteries at last. In this class of vehicle it must be a standard battery. Its good for efficency of space, packaging, sportiness and fuel economy.

Same feeling here, I think is due to the 3GS being so mediocre and unimpressive, we think it will happen again. I sure hope we are wrong. I want to see my favorite brand to make impressive products again.

But Infiniti is playing it as it is so much more exciting to drive. I don't think 20 hp is that much more excitment.

I think Li-ion batteries is still VERY expensive, they can't include it in a $50k~$60k mid size full luxury sedan yet. So far, you only find Li-ion batteries in the $41k Volt econobox and those ultra expensive Tesla's vehicles, the Roadster is $120k~$160k, the S sedan will be $60k~$80k and I think it will come with less luxury then the Mh and GSh.
