Yes but the A6 is derived off the Passat. I'm just saying I think they could make the ES a much more compelling product if they re-thought the suspension and offered AWD. Otherwise they should just discontinue it, because its bad for Lexus to sell a car with a Lexus badge that competes against Buick.

And if they modified the ES strategy in this way, it would free up the GS platform for a more bold strategy as opposed to being a compromise.

Yeah but Lexus needs the SC to be a coupe not a four door coupe. Lexus needs a halo sports car that people see every day to make the brand cool.

Most people I know don't know what an LFA is.

I have a gut feeling that Lexus is already working on this, they discontinued the SC for a reason, and I think that reason is to surprise the market with a completely different SC or a different coupe model in general.

I don't have any insider information, it is just something I think they're planning.

Bring back the SC and make it go up against the CL. Make it like a 2-door LS, with power.

I would love to see a GS-F Wagon, just make like 1000 of them they probably sell like hotcakes.

1. 4GS more upright, more space, more sedan line
2. A new 4 door "coupe" model based off the GS ala CLS, A7 etc.

2 different cars. We heard rumors of the SC becoming a 4 door coupe possibly.

Lexus needs the SC back BADLY
Lexus does need a real coupe badly. No disrespect to the 2nd generation SC owners out there, but I really never liked the SC 430. The SC should have always stayed a traditional 2 door coupe from the start, not the SC 430 with a joke of a backseat, akward bubbly styling and a high price point.

there is no question that SC is old school great lexus though, it is true luxury coupe.

And ISC will never be as luxurious, so that begs the question - do we want Lexus to move up or down?

Why can't they offer them all? Mercedes has a C class coupe now, an E class coupe, an E class convertible, a SLK hardtop convertible, a SL hardtop convertible and a SLS in a convertible form now.

Lexus has the ISc and LFA. The holes are glaring. I said it a long time ago;

Make a GS 300 as a volume leader
GSc, make a GS coupe, a big four seat GT

This then can allow the SC to be sportier over being a GT.

There is no reason why Lexus should not offer a coupe of every sedan,
ESc
ISc
GSc
LSc
hell HSc

and then give the SC the freedom to do whatever.

Hell again, there should be a Lexus based FT car.

again (per my e-mail to ya), expecting lexus to do the same as 'obvious' competitors is not the lexus way. it deliberately DOESN'T do what others do so as to seize market segments in their own way, and essentially without competing!

I'd rather have the next SC not be sporty, unless that LS coupe for sure comes to fruition.

Yeah but Lexus is in a position to do great things with an LFA trickle down or awful things by wasting the effort

Oh and Benz should have a SLC "baby SLS" coming too!
