I don't really think Lexus will loose a ton of sales by having a carryover V6. Keep in mind this engine is competitive. Also look what Mercedes has done with the success of E class with the 3.5 268 HP Motor. If the car is great people will not notice a carryover engine as much. The V8 GS accounts for less then 10% of sales currently. Granted it is because it is not competitive. I am hoping Lexus will make up and see that our customers do demand a V8 Alternative that is somewhat more special and powerful then the V6 or Hybrid Option

My mistake. Not detuned then.

I think a GS with a 5.0 V8 would be quite competitive against BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 (the new turbo one). For Mercedes my dealer told me the V8 accounted for about 20% of sales which is decent, especially at a higher price point.

^^ true that. but we all like to see at least mpg improvements to keep up with the Joneses.

since the V8 doesn't sell much, I'm fine with them holding off on it.

Is Lexus going to eventually offer the LFA's airbag seatbelts on other models? The new GS perhaps?

I think if we're ever going to see it first, it should be the LS, it could be GS-F though.

well they way life works, i would expect 2012 GS to have significantly more technology features than current LS.

It is simply newer model... LS doesnt even have remote touch

if you ask me, it's not time yet. it's cool factor, but having been in lfa, i think the seat belt is still a bit thick compared to traditional ones

very true, but e class has more loyalty behind them though. i am still looking back at the 06 gs with the gs300 release. it was new engine, but numbers were less than impressive, and eventually went into weak release of the 3gs. of course, the 350 is a much more powerful and at the same time efficient engine.

just curious, where can i see reports on the v8 vs hybrid vs v6 3gs sales numbers?

I still hate this trend of i-drive, remote touch, remote ****.

imagine using the ATM with a **** instead of the touch screen.
why make it more complicated...

i use both the remote touch (GS) and the remote mouse (RX). i personally like the remote mouse as it is more intuitive to use under driving conditions (imho)
