2010 Audi RS6 - 5.0L V10 Bi-Turbo (571 hp)
2011 BMW M5 - 4.4L V8 Bi-Turbo (560 hp)
2011 MB E63 AMG - 6.2L V8 (518 hp)

If the GS-F does come out, we sort of know it be like a 5.0L V8. I just hope they figured out a way to have it turning out over 500 hp. Actually what would be interesting, is if the hybrid version would be labeled as the F. Seeing the hybrid drive would be like a Bi-Turbo or something.

Mike, the GS will be the GS and I'm sure it'll grow on us. As far as the GS F most likely it will come. Just look at the pattern. We have an IS F, LFA is here so we need something in between which would be a GS F. Now the SC F is another story if there is one.

The car can have 800hp, if its ugly as hell I do not want anyway. So I am hoping what comes off the line blows my hair back a little more than the 3rd gen GS which did not do much for me.....

If they get the style down, I really love high rev anything so would love to see something north of 7000rpm more than I care about a few extra hp. HP is a big one but the over all driving experince matters a lot to me. If I can jump in my sedan in the morning on the way to work and hear that thing hummin north of 6000, I will tear the office apart the rest of the day

I hope it shows up in black at Pebble Beach.

Silver just isn't doing it for me on the concept.

If they put the V10 from the LFA into the GS-F it would be worth it over the Germans for the sound alone.

I keep begging for it but doubt it will happen. I would take a detuned, 450hp, 8000rpm v10 in a heart beat..... not even the same engine as the lfa, just trickle down some of that tech to a lower cost v10...

but you look at what audi did with the S6 and looking at the v10 M5, they did not last long so either it kills profit or the market did not want to support the v10.....

The thing is though if Lexus wants to earn as much respect for its "F" cars that the Germans have for "M" and "AMG", using the LFA engine, even if de-tuned, would be a quick way. Or how about engines derived from the LFA engine for the entire F line including the IS-F. Sure they won't be as powerful (or V10s), but a similar feel (high, fast revs) and noise (like a race car) would set "F" apart from the Germans. It would also make the cars very desirable, another area where Lexus needs to work on.

Two birds killed with one sweet stone.

No, that is wrong. Here in Europe there is an EU regulation sort of copying yours in the US about daytime running lights. These are compulsory for new cars from 2010 yet no regulation is in effect about such being LEDs or ordinary bulbs. However the consumption of LEDs is nearly zero and nowdays getting cheaper by the day they all started using LEDs for daytime running lights. For e.g. VW Passat '11 sold here without xenons are sold with ordinary bulb DRLs.

Yet I hate these DRLs, they look ugly on Audis, still everyone seems to opt for the same christmas tree like stuff.

Hope that the new GS will not copy the design of E60 BMW in the way they seem to do on the showcar...

It is said that the engine makes up approx 2/3 of the cost of the LFA, a car that Lexus is losing wads of cash on. For any IS, GS or LS to use that V10, you'd be looking at $250K+ for such a car. A big and/or FI V8 is the only option when you consider costs.

For me, all I'm looking for is 500 hp minimum (for a GS-F). No less than that....
