I have to agree... the GS is floaty and not sporty. I test drove one. I'd buy a 5 series any day over it but that's just me. Not saying it's not a nice car but Lexus is definitely not gearing the GS as a sporty car.

especially when lexus already has the es for total comfort oriented customers. the gs can definitely use more sportiness.

My sole interest is in the new GSh and possible GS-F. I am starting to not care about the pissing matches that go on with every debut when most of the vehicles sell to their intended market.

Do I wish the next GS kick a lot of behind. Yup. However it won't be the end of the world for me if it doesn't have 700hp.

Yea, if i had the choice, I'd buy a 5 series over the GS anytime.

I don't really care how much HP the next GS has. I just hope they keep the "vanilla" V8 version, instead of reserving the V8 just for the GS-F. Not everybody wants harsh ride and ultra low profile tires, some of us just want a smooth ride with silky smooth engine. And the V6 just doesn't cut it.

The current GS460 is almost perfect. If they just improve the interior a little.

probably the best way for that would be to have Sport version like LS460 Sport...

The regular GS needs to have a Sport version like the LS yes. On top of that, an absolute necessity for the next-gen GS is a GS-F, if Lexus wants the market to take the GS seriously.

those crowns don't do much for me exterior or interior, (look dated), although the seats/leather work looks very very good.

I see the Crown as a serious step down in appearance from the current GS both in the interior as well as the exterior.

I've sat inside the Crown, in Japan, and find it to be a very solid, comfortable, well-furnished vehicle. I visited the Megaweb showcase where there was the Crown on the first floor. However, on the upper floor, there is the GS 450h, which has the curvaceous interior accents and more stylized Lexus interior, which feels more sporty, artistic, and modern. However, make no mistake, the Crown is very well built and in a number of ways at Lexus-level. In some features it is better than the GS, but I think the overall execution, particularly the interior and some of the exterior, is more traditional-looking than the GS. If they could take the Crown/Crown Athlete and make a Lexus model out of it, sure. However it would need an L-finesse treatment. And I think the character of the Crown is a bit different than the GS, not to take anything from either.
