4GS mega thread (UPDATED; preview drives, specs, more interior pics)
#272
I've sat inside the Crown, in Japan, and find it to be a very solid, comfortable, well-furnished vehicle. I visited the Megaweb showcase where there was the Crown on the first floor. However, on the upper floor, there is the GS 450h, which has the curvaceous interior accents and more stylized Lexus interior, which feels more sporty, artistic, and modern. However, make no mistake, the Crown is very well built and in a number of ways at Lexus-level. In some features it is better than the GS, but I think the overall execution, particularly the interior and some of the exterior, is more traditional-looking than the GS. If they could take the Crown/Crown Athlete and make a Lexus model out of it, sure. However it would need an L-finesse treatment. And I think the character of the Crown is a bit different than the GS, not to take anything from either.

Agreed, I think a more sumptuous GS interior would do great to move it head and shoulders above the ES. The Crown ranks among the top Toyota-branded luxury models, so there is some overlap with the Lexus division.

Yes you are right, I just thought another image would help distract from the above rather chimera-like LS photochop. The artist who did that one has done some nice 3SC ones though.

I remember when the spy pic of the 3rd Gen GS was around for years and we all dissed it on this board saying there was not way that's what it would look like, and sure enough it was 98% accurate. I hope this pic isn't the fourth gen, but I wouldn't doubt there's a chance.

oh gawd stop the butchering
those PS'ed photos look horrible...
no cohesiveness at all
we have to give lexus a bit more credit, their designs tends to flow very well as a whole car from front to rear
