I'm sorry, but no one will convince me this car is ugly. I can accept "a little bland" or "vanilla" or "less striking then the concept", but "UGLY"??? I must really be out of touch with what beautiful is, especially compared to the BMW 5 or Audi S6, hell, you can add the E-Class to that, too. And I couldn't stand the GS quad lights. Looked tacky. I did really like them on the 3GS, however, but I'm glad to see them go. I guess I'm the odd one out on this one.

sorry but to date i still think back in 1989, lexus "copied" the w140 but at the same time lexus made so much improvement on top of it. people will argue on that (just like everything else) but that's my belief. and for all i care lexus did one hell of a job and got where they are today mostly due to that start.

Yes Lexus copied, but every car maker has copied elements from other car makers. The S-Class interior was very close to the 7 series interior. Every single car maker started doing flame surfacing after Bangle got pretty much bashed for his designs (I still say without him we would all still be seeing pretty boring designs across the board). So there are always going to be common elements. I am sure the first LS was based on a look very similar to the S Class back then but then it was the car to beat. The current gen Lexus cars have a unique look. This new GS has similarities to some of the cars but it does not look like a Hyundai or a Honda. The issue I have with the car is that there seems to be no real thought to the design. Yes I can understand they would like to have a family face, but the good thing about Lexus was that each looked like its own car while having some common elements to make it a cohesive family. Well hoping to see how much my opinion changes when the official pictures come out and I really hope they do not show just silver, a darker colour would def look nicer on this car.

I forgot to add that its also disappointing that the GS, nor any Lexus for that matter, uses LEDs for anything else besides brake lights. Everyone is using LEDs for turn signals and even reverse lights...

Hmmm... you state you own (or at least are a fan of) the current RX Hybrid, yet, you made a comment as asinine as "...the GS, nor any Lexus for that matter, uses LEDs for anything else besides brake lights."??? I wonder what kind of mythical headlights the HS, RX Hybrid, and LS 600hL use???
