1. 2013 GS350 F-Sport
2. Black w/ Cabernet Interior
3. Nav w/ Mark Levinson
4. RWD
5. Dynamic Rear Steer
6. No planned mods, happy with the car as is (well, maybe an exhaust in the future)
7. Replaced an 09 Subaru STi hatchback that was totaled in an accident.
We test drove a 2016 Accord Touring beforehand and it was a nice car with a lot of features and tech but the drive left me uninspired. As soon as we hopped in the GS, the wife and I could feel the difference and all the tech (Android Auto, Carplay, etc.) in the world couldn't make up for the feel, fit, and finish.

Greatest Come Up
Ok, first let me say, I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving, and everyone returned home safely.....
Ok, so as of Wed. i am a proud owner of my second Lexus.
A new 2015 GS 350 F Sport Atomic grey with cabernet red interior.
Planned mods -
Lowering springs,
Matte black wrap on all chrome extirior trim , and front split on grill to appear as full grill
Matte black wheels, possible BBS, Ambit, Miro. Not stance
Possible Borla exhaust
Tasteful window tint. Not limo...
Thats all..
Keep it simple.
Now the come up.
So i bought me a 2008 IS250 back in june, and loved my whip. i bought it for my wife actually.
which was an upgrade for my wife from her 1995 civic.
So shortly after buying my IS250, problems starting coming up.Mind you the Lex only had 64k miles.
first the air bag relay harness ( a $2k fix ) comped by the dealership, then the rear view mirror, electrical shorts, and bad front alignment.
I bought the car in june. going back and forth with the dealership.
in the meantime, i had to shop for new insurance, as my old policy was about to expire. The agent i was getting a quote from asked me if i was in an accident. I said NO, which car because i drive my 97 EK daily for work.
They said the lexus was involved in an at-fault accident, claim paid out by Mercury Insurance. I asked how can i get this info? LexisNexis is the company all insurance companies go through to get a complete vehicle and driver history. They gave me a claim number, and to reach out to lexisNexis.
And sure enough i got the proof, but still was vague on details to prove to the dealership. I called Mercury insurance, and i could only get the details if i hired an attorney to summons those documents. Being that that car was used, Lawyers weren't to interested in this case, because of the value of the case. I brought it to the dealerships attention, but they went off of Carfax, and Autocheck which by the way showed accident free....
after going back and forth with the dealership, i called mercury insurance again, and begged for any info on this case, and the agent gave me all the details i needed, but only verbally, so i relayed this info to the dealership, and i suppose they realised that i wasn't going to go away, and that i knew what i was talking about. They finally agreed to discus my options. They offered to comp me on the price of my IS250. I said no becuase of all the issues it has, and i want out of this vehicle, but would be glad to buy something better.
They had to refund my down payment, and all my monthly payments which came up to a little more than 4k. I was originally going to buy a 2013 gs350 f sport with 22k mile at $36k, but the wanted $750 a month, and with the interest would have been around $42k.
Then they offered me a lease with a miles cap, and that was a No.
Then a sales guy waling by heard the problem, and said they have a great incentive on lease to own. No miles cap, because i'm agreeing to buy the car at the end of the lease, and they have a $4500. rebate good towards the lease. We dug into this deal, and with the $$$$ i had returned, it came to be close to $10k off the vehicle sticker, so i'm leasing for 3 yrs. at $525, and then buying for $27k, which the 2013 would have been around the same price after all the payments. Plus i get all the VIP treatment being that its a new vehicle purchase.
So guys, if you buy used, check with your insurance to give you a quote on it and to check for any paid claims on that vehicle. Carfax, Autocheck is a resiurce and not accurate....

first post
Just picked up 15 GS F Sport. Never thought I'd buy a Lexus. I did a car shopping trip to Vancouver and ended up driving the F sport to kill time between 2 other appts at Benz and BMW. I was really impressed with the handling - certainly not what I expected. It lacked the straight line oomph of the competitors but everything else nailed it. Very happy so far. The highway drive home was a dream. Just waiting now to see if second attempt at winter rims will fit.

Proud new owner of a 2013 GS350
Liquid Platinum with gray interior -- Premium & Nav package
24,500 miles on the ODO
$31,700
When I unloaded my BMW 5 series, I thought I'd never go back to cars of that class because of the routine trips to the dealer for what felt like endless repairs. I was content with my '13 Camry but no more. This Lexus is so refined and drives incredibly.

After several months of going back and forth about looking at a GS 350 Crafted Line, and slowly watching the inventory dwindle in my immediate area, I found a slightly used (1800 miles) 2015 model, in perfect condition, this past Saturday at a local dealer. I just don't like the grille on the 2016 models, and none of the other colors in the 2015 lineup really had much interest. I love the Ultra White with black details and red and black interior even though it may be too sporty for someone my age (or so people will think, as if I care...). It's an upgrade of a 2006 Toyota Avalon, which served me very well, and isn't the gray-haired car everyone claims it is, the Touring edition I had was an awesome ride and plenty of oomph.
It comes with the standard Crafted Line stuff, minus the luggage set. So lots of fancy things that come with a luxury brand. So I'm thrilled and still exploring all the features.
