Default New Lexus Owner

Hi everyone,

From the Bay Area, hope to get together with some of you in the near future like a meet up. I am also free to meet up with individuals to talk about our cars and real estate, my expertise.

Which body shop/detailer do you use around the Bay Area? I have some front bumper scrapes and paint chips that I want to fix before adding PPF or clear bra.

I am also planning to add the Tanabe or Ultra Racing front strut bar for improved handling, don't think there's anything I can add underneath the car to reduce body roll, I may be wrong on this. I do not want to adjust the height of the vehicle since I feel the ride is pretty bumpy at the moment even on eco mode. It's running on 19s and Pirelli P Zeros.

In the future, maybe adding Takeda intake, headers, and exhaust system.

Thanks to all the members here for sharing that have helped save me a lot of time.

Congrats! We’ve got similar garages. I’ve got a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. Currently on my 4th GC. Had a 2014 Overland prior.

Hi everyone, been a long time lurker. There have been some fantastic cars on this site throughout the years. Well now I am part of the Lexus family. Just got the car a week ago. Here's the rundown:
1. 2015 GS F-sport..L/Certified w/ only 25k miles
2. Nebula Grey Pearl/Cabernet
3. Nav /No ML
4. AWD
5. no DRS
6. Planned mods...window tint, front spoiler, lowering spring and wheels
7. What other cars were you considering? Infiniti Q70 and Acura RLX. I really wanted AWD so that pretty much left the RLX out. I wasn't really happy with the quality of my last few Nissans, so here I am. What did this replace or add to? Added to my 97 Sentra (the beater) and my 04 E55. Sadly, I'm running out of patience with the 55 so it will be gone soon.

Hope to be a productive member of the site. Pics to come...

Wow how did the IS hold up to that amount of miles? I just got a GS and might get an IS for the wife...

Smile New FL Owner

Hey all! Glad to jump on here with my new 4GS.

1. ‘18 GS 350 F-Sport
2. Smoky Granite Mica/Rioja
3. Nav/Mark Levinson
4. RWD
5. Non-DRS
6. (Done) Takeda Intake / Tanabe Medallion Axle-Back / Tanabe Sustec Bar / 3M Crystalline 40%
7. Been a Lexus owner for a bit now (leased a ‘13 ES 350) and turned in my ‘15 IS 250. This GS is my dream car. I considered a GS-F but determined it didn’t make sense as a daily driver sitting in traffic 2 hours a day

The IS was fantastic!! The only repair ever was a rubber boot on the CV Joint from hitting an object on the road ! Otherwise, nothing was needed besides regular maintenance of Oil, Brakes, Tires. The leather held up real nice, with once or twice a year cleaning & protection. The sunroof was starting to rattle a tiny bit in the really cold winter weather.
Long-time owners just can't go wrong with Toyota / Lexus !!

I was simply at the point with the IS where I had some costs coming up (tires, spark plugs, coolant, rear diff, and the sealed tranny were all ready for service, etc) and I had to either do all of those and then drive the IS for two more years....or make the switch now to the GS, for it's more HP, more Room, and the 2016 re-design.

Awesome and great to hear! I just got a 2015 gs350 Fsport, and i STILL have a Honda accord 2006 with ~300k, i take good care of my cars and will love the lexus for a long time! its great to hear the leather was still good after 165000 miles, that was my one concern.

i love the gs350 but i think i hear the gs f calling my name lol

I recently picked up a certified 2015 GS350 AWD f sport with 37K miles.
Enjoying the car very much. However there are a few issues that I've noticed recently.

1 - engine vibration upon start (feels like engine rocks side by side noticeably more than what is typical for Lexus. This is based on what I feel in the cabin)

2 - driver side door trim rattle with moderate bass setting (standard Lexus audio package)

3 - cheap sounding rattle when closing driver side door (related to issue No 2? Or is it the side mirror that rattles? )

Not sure about the others but #2 looks to be an easy fix. Search "ml quick rattle fix". Apparently the switches in the window switch bezel are not snug and rattle when there is some bass playing. It's an easy fix at home or take it in to your dealer.
