Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I'm a gear head, love cars. This is my 2nd Lexus (I had a 2013 Lexus IS250). I've had my GS350 since 2018. Really enjoy this car. First time I've bought a car with no regrets. Thinking of doing some work to the car. I've had the good fortune of owning many different cars, this car by far has surpassed my expectations and I'm going on two years! Anyways looking to learn about the car and maybe join some local meets...
Long time spectator to the forum, gained lots of great info and insight from knowledgeable members here. This forum helped me decide and eventually picked up
Looks great. I can't tell, is it the AWD or RWD? I'm in the market but the RWD is hard to find here in the NorthEast and it will be tough to drive both. The few I'm looking at are exactly like yours...but AWD. Checking out one Wed finally, they both certainly have their merits.

Hey,
Thanks, My GS is RWD. Good luck on your search, come back and let us know what you end up getting - Cant go wrong with either though.
Been lurking for a quite some time here. Was on the market for a GS, until my buddy who owns a small Euro/luxury car dealership came upon a base 2016 well-optioned GS at a price I could not turn down.
Was afraid I would have major buyers remorse for not getting the F-Sport but so far I am loving this! The wife loves the smooth ride (and now wants an RX) and my kid (4yr) has plenty more space in the back vs my old car (2012 Honda Accord). Surprisingly it actually might be better for me versus the firmer-ride of the F-Sports I test drove.
Let me know if y’all have any mod suggestions! Excited to be a part of the community!
GS (Premium, Luxury, or F-sport)
2016 Gs350 Base
Premium package
Cold weather package (love the dual pane windows 😬
AWD
Liquid Platinum
Planned mods?
Tint!
Wheels
Maybe a drop- open to recommendations on what to do for this, I have a 4year old so I’d like to keep the soft ride and don’t want to affect my daily driving abilities
Hello, new to the club, bought a used 2019 GS F Sport end of December!
Reading the FAQ's and various mods, this photo I've already tinted the windows (3M Crystalline). The mods at the top of my wish list are integrating a radar detector (need a new and current one) to the rear view mirror and tie into the rain sensor wire (read that much) and if economical get a HUD in it.
I purchased a 2016 GS200t this week. I came from a 575hp Chrysler 300 SRT so I was looking at the GSF but I decided to go with no car payment rather than another V8.
After driving my wife's NX200t for a few days, I decided that the 4 cyl was adequate to get me around.
This is our third Lexus in the family and I love the car so far.
I have a few ideas for mods:
Exterior:
Its black so it needed a good polish to get rid of the prior owner's swirl marks from improper washing. My ongoing mod will be to keep it swirl free and looking as new as possible. It was sad that the paint on my 2006 black Chrysler looked way better than this 2016 example but that will change.
Lighting: It needs LED turn signals up front, I think I found the correct bulbs for this easy mod.
The 18" wheels look great but are a bit narrow in the rear. On my Chrysler, I widened the rear wheels to 10" and fit a wider tire in the rear. Has anyone done this on a GS? I know the GSF wheels are already 10" but I Iike having the stock looking wheels that aren't too aggressive.
Engine
The vehicle is L-Certified so I do have a warranty, but I may install a plug n play tuner to get up to V6 power. According to the various tuners, the 2L can reach the same peak HP and deliver more torque at a lower rpm than the V6. Also with the slightly steeper rear end ratio (3.13 on the 200t vs 2.94 on the 350) it should theoretically be a bit quicker (although the 4cyl is a tiny bit heavier than the v6).
Interior
This example did not have navigation therefore I want to install the GROM android package. I had a fully integrated Android touchscreen on my 300 and it was excellent.
Questions:
Has anyone widened their rear wheels? If so, to what width and which tire? I have the 18x8 and going to at least 18x9 or 18x10 would be nice to run 275-285 widths in the rear. Although I had 305 and 315 on 10" wheels prior, I think it would look goofy on the smaller GS chassis as well as add unnecessary weight.
Lighting: The LED low beams on my wife's NX200t have a good purple color band whereas there is none on my GS. Is this normal or did the prior owner mess with something? The headlights appear to be OEM and there is no record of an accident on the vehicle. Maybe its a good excuse for the triple beam headlamps. Is that a popular mod?
Thanks for the help and I look forward learning a ton on this forum!

A few members have successfully wired the triple beam headlamps - most have a dash warning light that appears but they do work (its a pricey upgrade). The purplish hue on NX's headlamps are odd to me since you mentioned they are LEDs...usually HIDs beginning to go bad will have a purple hue (or sometimes on startup might have a different color until the bulb warms up).
The GS stock HID lamps (equipped on my '13 GS350) lean toward the pure white color w/almost no hint of blue/yellow. I'd imagine the GS's like yours equipped with LED headlamps would be similar with a pure white color. I doubt the previous owner messed with that...
