4GS Release Discussion!

i don't think they showed a base. it's lowered (that's probably not even factory option), the wheels don't look at 17s. the car also has rear armrest controls, unless that's going to be standard (which likely means no fold down seats?)

For anyone keeping track or wondering, the 4GS is 0.2 inches longer, 0.7 inches wider, and 1.2 inches taller than the 3GS.
Also still amazed by the comment that there will be NINE new or updated Lexus models next year. 2012 will be huge for both the Toyota and Lexus brands.
2nd generation Remote Touch with a "one touch push confirmation" according to the press release. I guess that's why the buttons are gone.

EXCELLENT job Lexus! I love this new car, and I am a picky *****! It is clean, proportional, classy, elegant, and sporty all in one.
A couple of comments...
The car is late. Should have been on sale the end of this year as a 2012. So now we have six full months to get through before they have them ready for sale? In the past, hasn't Lexus released production sedans pretty soon after the concepts or prototypes were shown?
Make any car lower and it automatically makes it look better. We are being a bit played here with the press photo. I don't think most new GS's are going to be that low or look that aggressive.
A few days ago, I was the first to mention the Sonata resemblence in the rear. But I want to add that's not a bad thing. As someone mentioned, the rear of the Sonata has always gotten favorable comments. At least if Lexus is going to (accidentally) copy, they chose well.
It appears the color shown on the debut car is from the HS- Silver Opal Mica I believe. Always wished they made it available on other models and it looks like it's starting to happen.
As time goes on and I get older, it's becoming harder and harder to like new car designs. This is one of the few that win out. I'm very elated Lexus is on a solid path!

Mark Templin mentioned it in the reveal. That is a sensor that detects if you are falling asleep and the car will make a tone/beep if it detects that you're nodding off.

I don't agree with Lexus making the slits on the grill horizontal because all previous GS generations had vertical slits. So Lexus did deviate from the GS character in a tiny bit...
